John Lomas Lindler, Jr.  85, of Prosperity died June 21, 2009 at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital.         

Born in Peak, on February 4, 1924 he was a son of the late John Lomas, Sr. and Lila Stoudemire Lindler.  Mr. Lindler was retired from Kendall Company, Oakland Plant and was a World War II Marine veteran. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Louise Shealy Lindler; a daughter, Pamela “Pam” DeHart; sisters, Margaret Whorton, Martha Jo Mahaffey, Sue Grant, Mabel Cain, and Annie Laurie Graham; brothers, William Howard Lindler, Phillip Lindler, and Robert Lindler; grandchildren, Michael (Tamra) Taylor and Brett (Jessica) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Raegan Taylor and Hunter Taylor.  Mr. Lindler was predeceased by a brother, Mack Lindler

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126, Prosperity Rescue Squad or Pomaria Rescue Squad, PO Box 192, Pomaria, SC 29126.
