Patsy Wicker Gregory, 83, of Newberry, widow of Jack Rogers Gregory, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 28, 1932, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Cecil Wicker and Bessie Watson Buzhardt. Mrs. Gregory was a cosmetologist for 65 years and during her career assisted many of her customers who could not drive with transportation to the beauty shop. She also traveled to the Saluda Nursing Center for a number of years to fix residents hair. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Her greatest passion in life was her love and devotion for her family.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy E. (Connie) Morris of Newberry; a daughter, Pamela Morris (Billy) Branton of Newberry; step-sons, Jack Rogers (Ann) Gregory, Jr. of Pawleys Island and William Gregory of Columbia; a sister, Cecilia Ann (Russell) Franklin of Newberry; grandchildren, Chad Morris, Brandon Morris, Justin Branton and Jessica Livingston and seven great grandchildren; special niece, Missy Franklin. She was predeceased by a brother, Jesse Cecil Wicker, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Bethany Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00- 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 2704 Nance Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the Newberry County Free Medical Clinic, PO Box 783, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Jack R. Gregory, Jr., Chad Morris, Brandon Morris, Justin Branton, Chris Livingston and Russell Franklin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kade Morris, Luke Morris, Landen York, Carolyn Bivens, Lonny Fowler and Bobby Shealy.

I just heard of your mom's passing on Saturday.She was very special to me and my family for many years.I know how much she loved her family and I know she will be missed.May you have peace and find comfort that she is only away for a season.What a wonderful day when we all can be reunited forever.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in the resurrection promise at John 5:28,29 that reads: "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all that are in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." The Bible gives us hope that one day our dead loved ones will be brought back to life.
