James Lawrence Barker, Jr., 62, of Prosperity, died Thursday, April 20, 2017, at his residence.

Born on October 12, 1954, in Williamson, WV, he was a son the late James Lawrence Barker, Sr. and Maria Coleman Barker. He was a Navy veteran and retired as a plant engineer at Pioneer Foods.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Rhodes Barker and brothers, Rickey Barker, Skippy Barker and Timothy Barker.

No formal funeral service is planned.
