Lola Rebie Reeves, 101, of Newberry, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at White Oak Manor.

Born on August 23, 1915, in Newberry she was the daughter of the late Malcolm William and Lola Bell Rivers Reeves. She was the oldest member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church and worked at Mollohon Mill and retired from Oakland Mill.

Miss Reeves is survived by nieces, Cheryl Bedenbaugh of Prosperity, Brenda Thomas and Ann Boozer both of Newberry and a number of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Eugene Reeves, Eddie Reeves, Nature Reeves and Thomas Reeves.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, August 4, 2017, at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church by the Rev. James Henricks. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Summer Memorial Lutheran Church, 1609 Milligan Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Cheryl, Ann and Brenda. I am sorry to hear about Ms. Rebie. She and my mom were the best of friends. They worked together in Mollohon Mill. Ms. Rebie visited my mom often with the church ladies. My mom passed on 2012 at age 96 1/2. They were both strong and hard working Christian ladies. God bless both of them.

So sorry for your loss. Wow, 101 years old, I bet she had some stories to tell about her life and all that she had seen. How blessed were those that knew and loved her.
