I was privileged to work with Mark at Fort Jackson. He was the sweetest, most thoughtful and considerate person to all people. A highlight was his happiness was when he met and married Myrtie. His joy was contagious. All friends and family now have a hole in our hearts at the loss of this beautiful person. He had a wonderful laugh, smiling eyes, and thoroughly LOVED learning to be SOUTHERN! I’m confident God holds Mark in His healing hands and he is perfect and whole. This is a terrible loss for all that knew him. We spent lots of time together as kids thanks to our parents. As life went on and we began our careers, we ended up in different parts of the country and didn't stay in touch. Thankfully we reconnected a few years ago. I am grateful that we finally got together this past July. I still can't believe this. Rest in peace cousin. Love, Jerry

It is with a very heavy heart that I write these words. My most sincere condolences are with the entire Mallach Family. May you all know that you are in my family's thoughts and prayers. May you also somehow find peace during these very difficult and confusing times. Mark meant the world to me and my family, as he was directly responsible for my twenty-two years of service in the United States Army. Mark was the active duty Army Recruiter that enlisted me in the Infantry and changed my life forever. I looked up to Mark in many ways and found inspiration in the positive and energetic ways that he lived life. Even when times seemed dismal, Mark found the good in it all and consistently persevered. Mark and I exchanged text messages often during the college football season, cheering on our beloved Alabama Crimson Tide with words of affirmation and passion for the love of the game. Although it is very painful to lose someone we cherish and love so much, I find comfort in knowing that Mark is resting peacefully in Heaven and will be one day welcoming us all with open arms. I can see Mark's infectious smile now. Mark is an honorable and true friend that will forever hold a place in my heart and be missed by all that he came in contact with. Mark was an inspirational leader that exuded confidence and always attained high levels of success during his military career. Mark, I miss you so much and want to thank you for being part of my family's life! Please save a place for me for when I am called upon.

May God Bless you and your entire family.

I would like to send you one final message.... Airborne, Rangers Lead the Way, and Roll Tide Roll!

Love Brandon, Rita, & Jessica Jenks

God looked around the garden and saw an empty space.
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best.

He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone;
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You will truly be missed.
