Frances Hendrix McCullough, 96, of Newberry, widow of Samuel Guy McCullough, died July 6, 2018 at White Oak Manor.

She was born in Newberry County on November 22, 1921. She retired from the South Carolina Department of Social Services and after retirement worked as a secretary at Metal Masters for a number of years. She was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church and delivered Meals on Wheels. She loved crafts, and would often make Christmas Angels for family and friends.

She is survived by grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Willis, Michael(Anita) McCullough, and Claude McCullough, Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Vernie McCullough; and a special nephew, Wayne McCullough. She was predeceased by sons, Harold Guy McCullough and Claude Lamar McCullough.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church, 1105 First Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Kevin Suber, Garret Davis, George Counts, Ray Counts, Ethan McCullough, and J.C. Counts.
