Sarah Christine Ruff Morris, 96, of Pomaria, widow of Anderson Ashe Morris, Sr. died on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at White Oak Manor after a brief illness.

Born on May 9, 1922 in Pomaria, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Isadore Ruff and Dorothy Smith Ruff. She retired from Shakespeare after 20 years. She was a life-long member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. She was a former member of the 55+ at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she enjoyed their fellowship.

She is survived by a son, Anderson Ashe “Andy” Morris, Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Willie G. Morris; two grandsons, Anthony Kevin Morris (Robin) and Timothy Shane Morris (Lisa) and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Alexander Morris, Ryan Dean Morris and Presley Madison Morris and a nephew, Ray Morris (Renee) and a niece, Susan Hill (Ben). She is also survived by her loving cat and companion, Kitty. She was predeceased by a brother, Ray Eugene Ruff.

Mrs. Morris enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers and yard. She was a generous person and touched many lives with her kindness. We thank God for the gift of Sarah Christine (also known as “Bete” and “Sister”) and we praise Him for His glory which receives her today into His tender care.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson “Andy” Morris. Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, PO Box 170, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Kevin Morris, Tim Morris, Mike Ruff, Marty Ruff, Chris Ruff, Randy Ruff, Raymond Smith and Ray Morris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sadie & Bill Loging, June Ruff, Brice Ruff, Mary Ruff, Mickey & Aubey Wicker, Toni Ruff, Kathy Wilson, Francelle Kibler, Anna Wicker, Keshia Williams, Linda Chapman, Ida Chapman, Dr. Carroll A. Pinner, III, Dr. Alan Paysinger, Dr. Oscar Lovelace, Dr. Chip Dixon, staff of 3rd floor at Newberry County Memorial Hospital and the staff of White Oak Manor.
