Glenda Carole Childers Rhinehart, 72, of Newberry, died Saturday, November 23, 2019 at her residence.

Born on December 17, 1946 in Whitmire, she was a daughter of the late James and Wilma Long Childers. She worked at the J.P. Stevens Plant and American Fiber and Finishing.

She is survived by daughters, Tammy Rhinehart (Neil Stafford), Chandra Zercher (Greg), Karen Amick (Kenny) and Christie Gregory (Scottie); a sister, Brenda Wallen; a brother, Curtis Childers; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ken Pinney and Rev. Tom Nussbaum. Burial will follow in Whitmire Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:30 – 2:30 pm at the funeral home. The family will be at 248 White Oak Fork Road, Newberry. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to apply toward the funeral expeneses.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Gregory, Jr., Timothy Gibson, Jr., Austin Amick, Johnathan Gregory, Adam Wofford, Demtrius Dorsey and Dominique Coltrain.

I love this lady like my own grandmother. I've known her and her family most of my life. She always welcomed me with open arms and love. There are no words to express the hurt I feel from the loss of her. I'm praying for my extended family in their time of grief.
