Dorothy Annette Graham Floyd, 96, of Pomaria, widow of John Vinal Floyd, Sr., went to be with her Master on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

She was born on March 21, 1924. Mrs. Floyd was a member of St Matthew’s Lutheran Church where she was involved with WELCA Circle No 1 and the Joint Circle. She was involved with the RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) since 1983 and was in a crafts group at Newberry Jr High in 1992 & 1993. She was a member of SCFCL (South Carolina Family Community Leaders) since 1983, the Heirloom Needle Arts since 1983, and was named Homemaker of the Year in 1997 by the Clemson Extension. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 24 since 1983, the 55 Plus Senior lunch group at Mt Pleasant Methodist Church, served on the Advisory Board for Disability and Special needs with Ruth Pugh Foundation, and participated in the Senior Road Runners Club of Newberry. She enjoyed playing Senior Bingo at Burger King and was Volunteer Poll Monitor at Consolidated Fire Department No 5.

She is survived by sons, John Vinal Floyd, Jr.(Gail), Wilbur Wyatt Floyd (Connie) and Curtis Pearsall Floyd; a daughter-in-law, Marie Floyd; grandchildren, Paula Wilson (Jerry), Danielle McGrady, Marti Jo Sox, Sheree Dolan (Mike),Tina Hair (Mike), Bryan Floyd (Vanessa), Mavis Beasley, Chad Floyd (Julie), Josalyn Rowe (Dave) and Angelica Shealy (Eric); twenty-eight grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way and a whole pile of nieces and nephews.. Mrs. Floyd was predeceased by a son, Randall Graham Floyd, brothers, Bill Graham and Allen Graham, sisters, Frances Boland, Pauline Lathrop, Grace Pence and Allene Guy; granddaughters, Denise Owens and Johnette Floyd; a great-granddaughter, Farris Marie Rogers; nephews, Leon Boland, Charles Boland and David Boland; a niece, Bonnie Boland

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Graham Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Jackson.Memorials may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church General Fund.

Everyone is reminded of social distancing requirements and masks are encouraged.

I was saddened to hear of Ms. Annette's passing. She was a sweet lady, and I will always remember fondly our lengthy "wrong number " conversation several years ago while on vacation, and we reminisced about the good old days at Beth-Eden. My thoughts and prayers will be with each of you.

Doug and I were so sorry to hear about the death of Miss Annette. She was always such a sweet lady and we enjoyed talking with her when we came to S.C. She was a great friend to Mom and Dad and we really did appreciate it.
