Eakeath Warren McCullough, Jr., 52, of Newberry, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Continue Care at Prisma Health Baptist.
Born on January 22, 1969, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Eakeath Warren McCullough, Sr. and Rebecca Price McCullough. He was a graduate of Piedmont Technical College and was employed with Fergon Tool and Machine Company. Eakie was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church, Friendly Fire Department and Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Sligh McCullough; daughters, Shelby McCullough and Emily McCullough; a sister, Eleandor (Kevin) Minick of Newberry; step-mother, Pat McCullough of Chapin; mother-in-law, Dovie Sligh of Newberry; brother-in-law, Philip Sligh; nephews, Conrad Minick and Chase Minick.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2021, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Memorials may be made to St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 2461 St. Philip's Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
The family would like to acknowledge special family and friends of Eakie: Friendly Fire Department members both past and present, employees of Fergon Tool and Machine Company, Keith Minick, Melvin Dominick and Ethan Campbell.
Due to COVID 19 everyone is reminded of social distancing requirements and masks are required for the church service.

I’m so sorry and saddened of Eakie’s passing. I hold many memories dear to my heart! We had a great childhood growing up and playing at “the big house”. Then teenage years, he’d let me sneak and drive...lol; then adult years, we shared experiences of being parents of twins. I’ll always treasure our many conversations. He had the kindest heart!
