Susan Cook Black, 63, of Newberry, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on September 26, 1946, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Hazel Kirby Cook. She was a member of Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving is her husband, Randy Black; a daughter, Katie (Drew) Perry of Newberry; step-daughters, Michelle (J.R.) Busby of Newberry, Dena (Jeff) Gossett of Greenwood, Debbie (David) Ferguson of York and Dina Plampin of Abbeville; grandchildren, Dakota Perry, Bristol Perry, Will Garrison and Justin Busby. Mrs. Black was predeceased by her first husband, Phil Plampin, a son, P.J. Plampin; a step-son, Michael Plampin and a sister, Linda Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Floyd Sides. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
