James Harold Seibert, Sr., 76, of Prosperity, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at his residence.

Born on August 18, 1933, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late John Gary “Jonnie” Seibert and Lillie Belle Hamm Derrick Seibert. Mr. Seibert was retired from Mill Chip Company and was an Army Signal Corp veteran. He was a lifetime member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where he was a former Church Councilman and Sunday School treasurer. He was a former volunteer fireman and presently an honorary fireman of the Fairview Fire Department.

Surviving is his wife, Betty Jean Adams Seibert; sons, Gary Allen (Judy) Seibert, James Harold (Cheryl) Seibert, Jr. and Daniel Wade (Dorothy) Seibert; daughter, Wanda Seibert Cassady all of Prosperity; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and a special family member Doug Cassady. He was predeceased by a brother, John Edward Seibert;

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010, at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randall Derrick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127, Lake Murray Rescue Squad or Fairview Fire Department both c/o 149 Seibert Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

We will truly miss Mr. Seibert! He made my day every day with his big wave to me on my way home from work. It was such a nice way to begin and end my day. He was a special person.

We were deeply heartbroken when we learned of Harold's death. He was a friend to everyone. He never met a stranger. Our Heavenly Father
surely needed another angel to watch over us.
He surely will be missed by everyone!

Miss Betty and Family,

Bobby and I are so sorry to hear of Mr. Harold's passing. He was a wonderful person and Our whole family thought so much of him and loved him. My dad will have his good friend with him now, daddy really loved him. He had the biggest heart, and I will always have fond memories of him and your family. Aunt Betty, I am going to miss riding by waving & blowing the horn at Uncle Harold when he was on the porch or in the yard. I have so many good memories of him. I know you will all miss him dearly. My prayers & thoughts are with all of you during this time. We all love each of you.
