Joseph Otto Moore, 95, of Prosperity, widower of Rosalyn Shealy Moore, died July 13, 2010 at his residence.

Born on July 26, 1914, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Jefferson Dudley and Lucille Lester Moore. He was a graduate of Stoney Hill High School and was retired from Thomas and Howard Company. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Mr. Moore is survived by a son, Glenn S. Moore and his wife, Janice of Prosperity; daughters, Rosemary Bedenbaugh and her husband, Ralph of Prosperity, and Annette Kyzer of Orangeburg; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert Moore and Richard Moore, sisters, Mable Piester and Beatrice Kelly, a son-in-law, Jimmy Kyzer; and grandchildren, Mike and Lisa Kyzer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall Fund, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pall bearers will be Walt McConnell, Chip Moore, Greg Moore, Kent Bedenbaugh, Michael Bedenbaugh, and Rodger Steele.

The family would like to thank Harmony Hospice and his special caregiver, Veronica Swittenberg for their loving care.
