Nancy Shealy Dickert, 88, of Newberry, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at her residence.

Born on February 14, 1933, in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Viola Whittle Shealy. She attended Crosspoint Church and was a former Tupperware Representative. Mrs. Dickert found great pleasure in loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as one who added a great deal of spice to our world as the stories that can be told are far more numerous than be listed.

Mrs. Dickert is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ray Dickert; sons, Dean (Donna) Dickert and Dale Dickert both of Newberry; a daughter, Dawn (Danny) James of Newberry; a brother, Frank Bennett (June) Shealy of Lexington; special friend, Faye Morris of Newberry; grandchildren, Deanne (Jonas) Piester, Codie (Samantha) Dickert, Reid (Ashley) Dickert, Dan (Paula) James and Deena Lewis and great-grandchildren, Lillian Lewis, Cooper Lewis, Maddock James, Lawson James, Lena Dickert, River Dickert, Lincoln Dickert, Savannah Piester and Gunner Piester. She was predeceased by a grandson, Colt Dickert.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 4, 2021, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Crosspoint Church, PO Box 1171, Newberry, SC 29108.

Al and I just heard that Miss Nancy has gone home to be with the Lord. We are so sorry for your loss, you are all in our prayers and thoughts. I know Mr.Ray will miis her terribly. We have such fond memories. I will always remember her laughter, especially when it came to the grandchildren. We love you all!

I remember Nancy so well from my childhood. She and my mother, Donna, carpooled to work. They would take me to school. She had me a Little Debbie Cake almost daily. She was so sweet and funny. It’s been 40+ years, but I’ve never forgotten her! I never see one of those raisin cakes without thinking of her! So very sorry for your loss!
