Sara Mae Wicker Cromer, 94, of Newberry, died Sunday, June 6, 2021, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on September 25, 1926, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Emmanuel Anderson and Eva Epting Wicker. She was retired from Kendall Company – Oakland Plant and was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church where she was in the B Sunday School Class and the Joy Fellowship. Mrs. Cromer was a wonderful cook and enjoyed growing flowers. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World.

She is survived by a step-son, William (Debbie) Cromer of Prosperity; step-daughters, Ann (Virgil) Livingston, Ruth (Lonnie) Stoudemire and Cathy Craft all of Pomaria; a sister, Pauline Rister of Chapin and a nephew, John Rister; step-grandchildren, Tina Hipp, Todd (Tammy) Livingston, Amanda (Johnny) Riddle, Marsha (Scott) Meetze and Amy (Shane) Kitchen; step-great-grandchildren, Michael Hipp, Taylor Livingston, Laken (Chandler) Williams, Ethan Meetze, Benjamin Meetze, Wallace Kitchen and Davy Kitchen. She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Thomas Virgil Cromer, brother-in-law, J.B. Rister, step-grandson-in-law, Craig Hipp, step-grandson, Davy Craft and a step-great-granddaughter, Kimberly Hipp.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the St. Philip's Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 2461 St. Philip's Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Virgil Smith, Todd Livingston, Michael Hipp, Johnny Riddle, A.P. Smith, Roger Smith and Craig Wicker.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home and MSA Hospice for their loving care.
