Al "Penny" Franklin

Al Sigbee “Penny” Franklin, 75, of Prosperity, widower of Jacqueline Hamm Franklin, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at his residence.

Born on October 28, 1939, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Otis K. “Butler” and Lucille Huffstetler Franklin. He was an Air Force veteran and was retired from Sumwalt and Associate. Mr. Franklin was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Club.

He is survived by sons, Mike Franklin and Dave (Dovie) Franklin both of Prosperity; a daughter, Tonia (Brian) Gibson of Saluda; grandchildren, Brandon Franklin, Timothy (Kory) Franklin, Brianna Gibson, Allie Gibson and Gunnar Franklin and a great-granddaughter, Emersyn Franklin.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 12, 2014, at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. David Taylor and Rev. Bill Ebner. The family will receive friends following the service in the church family life center. Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be Charlie Brown, Willard Brown, Stanley Hawkins, Steve Koon, Craig Hamm, and Todd Bedenbaugh.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Tri-County Hospice and Ron and Teresa Halfacre.
