Alan McCanne

Alan McCanne, 80, of Prosperity, died Friday, January 6, 2017, at White Oak Manor.

Born on August 7, 1936, in Rochester, NY, he was a son of the late Lee and Priscilla Proctor McCanne. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired homebuilder. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Mr. McCanne is survived by his wife, Shirely Rutledge; a son, William McCanne of Gaston; daughters, Liz Ayres, Sally McCanne and Wendy Dutton all of Denver, CO; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Roy McCanne, Susan Marsland and Sally McCanne.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Taylor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
