Albert Hill

Albert Franklin “Hambone” Hill, 84, of Little Mountain,widower of Dorothy Howell Hill, died Sunday, January 24, 2016, at his residence.

Born on December 2, 1931, in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late Arthur M. and Mary Wise Hill. He was an Army veteran,worked for Newberry Mills and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Mr. Hill is survived by daughters, Shelby (Larry) Hazel and Karen (David) Gillion both of Newberry, Alice (Alvin) Breed of Panama City, FL, Diane Edgins and Joanna Hill both of Little Mountain; sisters, Peggy (Voight) Counts of Little Mountain and Spruce Sundeen of California; brothers, James (Faye) Hill of Newberry and Wise (Kathy) Hill of Pomaria; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren and his canine companion, Grady. He was predeceased by a brother, David Hill.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at St. Peter Lutheran Church by the Rev. David Tholstrup. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
