Alice Ruth Harmon

Alice Ruth Riley Harmon, 82, of Chapin, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Summitt Hills in Spartanburg.

Born on May 13, 1941, in Batesburg-Leesville, she was a daughter of the late John and Ruth Lindler Riley.  Mrs. Harmon was a member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James “Buddy” Harmon; sons, Allen (Tamra) Harmon of California, Neil Harmon of Charleston and Chris (Amanda) Harmon of Spartanburg; a sister, Edith Riley Wessinger of Chapin; a brother, John David Riley of Chapin; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harmon was predeceased by brothers, Ralph Riley, Don Riley and James Riley.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Monday, January 8, 2024 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Blaine Hill.  Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 10:30 – 11:30 am at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
