Alissa Rose Charpentier

Alissa Rose Charpentier of Newberry, a bright and beloved individual, passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of thirteen. Born on July 6, 2010, in Greenville, Alissa left an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

From her early years at Prosperity-Rikard Elementary to her current enrollment as an eighth grader at Mid-Carolina Middle School, Alissa displayed a genuine eagerness to learn and grow.

Alissa's infectious smile and warm personality were what made her truly shine. She had a natural ability to brighten any room and effortlessly brought joy to those around her. Her friendly disposition endeared her to everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impact on their hearts and minds.

Sports played a significant role in Alissa's life. She was an esteemed member of the Mid-Carolina High School Volleyball Team, where she showcased her enthusiasm and dedication for the sport. Additionally, Alissa excelled in club volleyball as part of the Carolina Sky team. Her tenacity and sportsmanship were admired by her teammates and opponents alike.

Beyond her academic pursuits and athletic accomplishments, Alissa lived a fulfilling spiritual life having accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and held a special place in the Student Ministry. Her commitment extended further as she served as an Awana Leader with the Children's Ministry—a testament to her compassion for others.

Alissa is survived by her parents, Mark and Michelle Marsh Charpentier; a sister, Ashleigh Charpentier; brothers, Daniel (Ashley) Charpentier, Jacob Charpentier and Andrew Charpentier; a nephew, Justin Charpentier; paternal grandparents, David and Virginia Charpentier, maternal grandparents, Donna Korda and Lou and Linda Neiger as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, December 10, 2023, at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Albert Allen.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church, 1020 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC 29108 and also following the service on Sunday.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those desiring to do so make memorials to McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108 (on-line)  to assist in offsetting funeral expenses, and also to provide seed funds for a foundation or scholarship to be established in Alissa's name.

Alissa Charpentier will forever be remembered as a beacon of kindness and love. Her charismatic spirit touched the lives of many throughout her short time among us. Although our hearts ache with sorrow at the loss of such a remarkable young person, we find solace knowing that Alissa will live on through the memories we cherish.
