Alik Shamailov

Alik Shamailov was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, on November 25, 1946 and was the oldest brother with 5 younger siblings.

Alik was married to the love of his life, Viktoriya Akopyan for 56 years, and they had two beautiful children together, Karina Manukov and Boris Shamailov. Alik was a proud grandfather of three grandchildren, Elizabeth and Christine Manukov and Arthur R. Shamailov. He is also survived by a brother, Yuri Shamailov and sisters, Rosa Davidova and Nonna Mendelson.  Alik was predeceased by a brother, Levi Shamailov and a sister, Mira Agaronova.

Alik immigrated to the United States as a war refugee with his family in 1991 and worked as an environmental inspector until the age of 66 when he retired.  

Alik was a devoted family man, loyal friend, great father and the best grandfather. Alik loved this life, loved people, had a big heart with love and care for everyone.  We will greatly miss, always love and remember the great man, Alik Shamailov .

A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Rosemont Cemetery by Rabbi Jonathan Case.

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.
