Alvin Geddings

Alvin Lenwood Geddings, 65, of Saluda, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his residence.

Born on January 2, 1950, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Howard Eugene and Maggie Lee McLeod Geddings. He was a former employee of Apex Tool and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Newberry Ward.

Mr. Geddings is survived by his wife, Ruth Duncan Geddings; son, Benjamin David Geddings; daughters, Mindy Leah Bladorn, Tia Marie Koutz, Amanda Blair Sherman and Victoria Elaine Vazquez-Perez; siblings, Daisy Fricker, Jean Searle, Eileen Mooneyhan, Ned Samuel Geddings, Leon Geddings, Mel Geddings, Johnny Geddings, Peggy Albright, Ricky Geddings and Pearleen “Cookie” Skipper and ten grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Bobby Joe Geddings and Ily Geddings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Newberry Ward by Bishop Rober Taylor. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 107 Westpark Blvd, Suite 220, Columbia, SC 29210.

Active pallbearers will be the High Priest Group of the Newberry Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
