Amanda Williamson Brown, 81, of Newberry, widow of Esby Walter Brown, died Monday, November 2, 2020 at White Oak Manor.
Born on July 17, 1939 in Whitmire, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Mary Worthy Williamson. She was a former dispatcher with the Newberry County Sheriff's Office and later retired from the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. She enjoyed photography and traveling; but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy Wicker and Jackie Hamilton both of Newberry; sisters, Iva Williamson of Augusta, GA, Terry Henson of Higdon, AL, and Wilma Byrd of Whitmire; grandchildren. Julie (Jon) Lawing of Newberry, Katherine Wicker of Katy, TX, and Jeremiah (Jessica) Wicker of Taylors; great-grandchildren, Brady Hamilton Black and Lucy Ruth Lawing and a dear friend and caregiver, Sandy Bush. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Barry Hamilton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Rosemont Cemetery, Springdale Section. The family will receive friends following the service. Those attending the service are asked to please wear a mask and be mindful of the Covid-19 guidelines.
