Angela Coats

Angela Marie Harmon Coats, 46, of Newberry, died Saturday, January 3, 2015, at her residence.

Born on October 19, 1968, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of Jimmie and Sheila Farmer Harmon. Mrs. Coats was the assistant business office manager at The Heritage at Lowman. She was a member of Glenn Street Baptist Church where she was in the choir, the ladies ensemble and was on the hostess committee.

She is survived in addition to her parents, Jimmie and Sheila Harmon of Newberry by her husband, Bobby Coats; daughters, Kim Coats and Christy Coats both of Newberry; brothers, Gregg (Johnette) Harmon of Newberry, Kevin (Stacey) Harmon of Little Mountain and Jody Harmon of Forest City, NC; a sister-in-law, Karen (Jerry) Kinard of Newberry and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Coats was predeceased by a sister, Crystal Harmon.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Glenn Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Whitesides. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Gregg Harmon, Kevin Harmon, Jody Harmon, James Harmon, Jimmy Bickley and Chad Cary.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Glenn Street Baptist Church Choir, Tammy Bird, Kay Callihan, Rebecca Shurtz, Melissa Yetter, Brandy Counts and other fellow employees of The Heritage at Lowman.
