Elizabeth "Bettie" Mayfield

Anna Elizabeth “Bettie” Long Mayfield, 88, of Newberry, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 the McCall Hospice House.

Born on May 13, 1926, in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Mattie Ringer Long. She was retired as a supervisory accountant for the Army-Air Force Exchange and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Ms. Mayfield is survived by a son, Larry Long Mayfield (Debbie Sluss); daughters, Lynette Barnes (Howard Dotson), and Charlotte Smith (Jeff Smith); a sister, Margaret Blair; grandchildren, Andrea Dawn Brummett, Christina Teresa Nelson, Monica Brabham Cromer, Brittany Paige Coon, Bianca Jade Mayfield and Dustin Elliottt Mayfield; eleven great-grandchildren and and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, April 6, 2015, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. Arden Hallman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorials may be made to the McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.

Active pallbearers will be Corey Aldrich, Jake Brummett, Zac Brummett, Chris Cromer, Drew Cromer, Dustin Mayfield and Chris Nelson.
