Anna “Nick” W. Monroe, 91, of Newberry, constant and faithful wife of the late Claude B. Monroe, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2010.
Born on August 30, 1919 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Henry Colie and Lillie Bell Fulmer Woodward. She was employed for many years at South Carolina National Bank successfully working her way up from bookkeeper to chief loan officer.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Epting and 3 sisters, Lillie Harmon, Frances Griffin, Hattie Lever and sister-in-law Elizabeth Werts. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren; Charles Saverance, Russell Saverance, Kathy Gilliland, Jana Saverance, Carla Hatch, Todd Saverance and Bradley Epting along with many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ann Saverance, brother Colie Woodward, sister May Lee and 2 grandsons; Del Saverance and Mike Saverance. Her strength, determination and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Karen Radcliffe. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Brad Epting, Todd Saverance, Charles Saverance, Russell Saverance, Christopher Saverance, Shane Kendrick and Anthony Ciccia.
