Anne Hawkins

Funeral services for Dorothy Anne Nichols Hawkins, age 83, of Prosperity will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Prosperity. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Hawkins, beloved wife of Paul L. Hawkins passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Born in Newberry, SC, she was a daughter of the late Willie Herman Nichols and Ruby Dominick Nichols. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking for her family and spending time with loved ones. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grands affectionately called her Meme. She graduated from Newberry High School in 1952 and attended Piedmont Tech. She retired from the Newberry County Water Authority.

She is survived by her husband, Paul L. Hawkins; daughter, Pamela H. Brown (Harvey) of Lexington; son, Paul Kent Hawkins of Prosperity. There are four grandchildren, Erica Waites (Tony) of Lexington, Mindy Hope (Rick) of Irmo, Jessika Peters (Jake) of Lugoff and Caitlin Norris (Ryan) of Hilton Head. Great-grandchildren are Paul and Emery Waites, Tyler and Brice Peters and Isaac Hope and a little baby girl to be born in May. She is also survived by her siblings, Bobbie Smith, Jerry Nichols, Peggy Morris, Allen Nichols and Dale Longshore. She was predeceased by her brother, Willie Nichols.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Roberts, Brent Richardson, Anthony Dennis, Alex Harold, Enoch Boozer and Mel Rabb.
