Annie Belle Wilson

Annie Belle Hickson Wilson, 95, of Newberry, widow of David Leroy Wilson, Sr., died Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Springfield Place Nursing Facility in Newberry.

Born on December 29, 1916, in Lynchburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry Alexander and Annie Powers Hickson. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Newberry Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and was a nanny and caregiver to many Newberry children in her home over the years.

She is survived by sons, David Leroy (Dotty) Wilson, Jr. of Prosperity and Henry Holland (Jayne) Wilson of Newberry; a daughter, Mary Gayle (Jamie) Henderson of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a number of close nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilson was predeceased by a grandson, Lee Holland Wilson and two sisters and four brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Mantle Nance. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at the family room at Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be David L. “Davy” Wilson III, C. Randall Koon, Henry Bryant “Bucky” Wilson, Nick Bouknight, James W. “Ren” Henderson III and Douglas F. Geiger.
