Ansel C. Bridgeman

Ansel C. Bridgeman, 86, of Newberry, widower of Andrea Carpenter Bridgeman died January 31, 2009 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on October 9, 1922 in Greenville, he was a son of the late Zeby and Bertha Tate Bridgeman. He was a retired electrician for the Flour-Daniel Corporation and was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by a son, Charles A. Bridgeman of Portola, CA; daughters, Michele Bridgeman of Newberry, Marsha McAbee of Marietta, LaGina Harmon of Prosperity, and Cindy Talley of Lugoff; sisters, Thelma Terpenning of Greer, and Cora Lee Trull of Greenville; 12 grandchildren, Nadiyah Glasgow, Nathaniel Bridgeman, Brandie Thompson, Samantha Harmon, Savannah Harmon, Tiffany Jordan, Kathy Jordan, Andrew McAbee, Kay Myers, Charles McAbee, Jennifer Laws, and Anne Vfair. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Eddie Bridgeman and a sister, Edna West.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charles Clinton. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, 965 Lindsay Circle, Newberry, SC 29108.
