Arthur "Billy" Boland

Arthur Reynold “Billy” Boland, Jr., 76, of Pomaria, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at his home. 

Born on November 28, 1947, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Arthur Reynold Boland, Sr. And Ruth Ellis Stone Boland. Billy was a master mechanic in the automotive industry before settling into his longest career as a millwright at Georgia Pacific.  

He was a Boy Scout Master with the Boy Scout’s helping build future leaders in the local community. He also volunteered in the Pomaria Fire Department for 50 years. 

Billy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, landscaping, sportsman shooting and riding his golf cart. 

A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Regina Holden Boland who was his caregiver for the past ten years during his time of health decline; a son, Chad (Becky) Boland; stepsons, Wayne Gunter and Stephen (Marcie) Lawrence; a sister, Ella Margaret Rawls; grandchildren, Keenan (Jessica) Boland, Kaleb (Madelyn) Boland, Kendal Boland, and Klara Boland; step-grandchildren, Lawson Lawrence, Landen Lawrence and Levi Lawrence and a great-granddaughter, Ruth Boland. He was predeceased by a sister, Judy Meetze. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel The family will receive friends following the service with burial to follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
