Arthur "Jr." Livingston

Arthur Jerome “Jr” Livingston, Jr., 85, of Prosperity, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 7, 1925, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Arthur Jerome Livingston, Sr. and Ruby Cook Livingston. He was a retired Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. Mr. Livingston also retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Surviving is his wife, Betty Force Livingston; daughters, Sheila (Richard) Crumpton of Prosperity, Frances Curtsinger and Joyce (Mike) McClung both of Mooresville, NC; sisters, Edna L. Shealy of Little Mountain, Carolina L. Butler of Newberry, Betty L. Ruff of Pomaria, Nancy (Billy) L. Shealy of Prosperity and Judy L. Hook of Lexington; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Phil) Sanders of Silverstreet and Jackie Livingston of Great Falls; grandchildren, Andy Crumpton, Michelle Crumpton Hawkinson, Kevin Curtsinger, Lori Curtsinger, Brandon McClung and Kara McClung; great-grandchildren, Ivy Crumpton, Alexis and Amber Hawkinson. Mr. Livingston was predeceased by siblings, Grace L. Mayer, Jimmy Livingston, Terry Livingston and Bobby Livingston.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. James Shealy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126 or to the charity of one’s choice.
