Audrey Sligh Zobel Agnew, 93, of Newberry, died Monday, September 30, 2019 at Springfield Place.
Born on October 7, 1925 in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Waters Sligh. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and a past member of the Newberry Roadrunners. Mrs. Agnew enjoyed traveling, playing cards and bingo. She had a great love for her flowers and was always up for a good glass of wine. Mrs. Agnew enjoyed life and tried to always have fun in whatever she was involved in doing.
She is survived by sons, Ralph P. Zobel, Jr. and Thomas C. Zobel, Sr. both of Newberry; daughters, Nancy Z. (Jeff, Jr.) Singley of Prosperity, Sally Z. (Ray) Pickel of Lexington and Cindy (Allen) Farr of Little Mountain; a sister, Marion Bowers of Prosperity; a brother, Ray Sligh of Clinton; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a great-greatgranddaughter and special friends, Emily and Ruby. Mrs. Agnew was predeceased by husbands, Ralph Zobel and George Agnew and siblings, Margaret Shealy, Frank “Buddy” Sligh, Charles Sligh, Bobby Sligh, Claude Sligh and Lewis Sligh.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 4, 2019, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. R. T. Bowling and Rev. James Williams. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel with a private family burial to follow. Memorials may be made Zion United Methodist Church, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.
