Avalee Hawkins

Avalee Miller Hawkins, 90, of Newberry, died Thursday, November 24, 2016, at White Oak Manor.

Born on April 1, 1926, in Catawba County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Beulah Davis Miller. She was retired from Damon International.

Mrs. Hawkins is survived by nieces, Linda Dees of Newberry and Judy Padgett of Clinton; and special friend, Ricky Hines. She was twice married, first to the late Thomas Luther Brooks and secondly, to the late Irvy E. Hawkins. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Allan Miller, Ruby Beck and Mary Ruth Boozer.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Silverstreet Methodist Church Cemetery by the Reverend Dan Lewis. The family will receive friends following the service.
