Barbara Lever

Barbara Harmon Lever, 80, of Pomaria, widow of Lawrence Lever, died Friday, May 3, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland.

Born on July 5, 1938 in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late David and Mary Ellen Hendrix Rowlette. She worked at Old School Manufacturing and retired from Quality Stitching. Mrs. Lever was a member of Enoree Baptist Church, the 55+ of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and the Newberry Road Runners.

She is survived by a son, Kevin Lawrence Lever of Pomaria; a daughter, Dena Lever Johnson of Silverstreet; a grandson reared in the home, Garrett Maxie Johnson of Pacolet; a special cousin, Debbie (Danny Wayne) Graham of Pomaria; a brother-in-law, William Lever; a sister-in-law, Lois (Wayne) Wilson and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Monday at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. George Leagan and Rev. Steve Jackson. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:30 – 3:30 pm Monday at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Dean Long, Todd Lever, Jason Long, Dan Graham, Jody Wilson and Mike Bowers.

Honororary pallbearers will be Dean Brown, Richard Hancock, Clara Sue Waites, Judy Yon, Dr. Carroll Pinner and the staff of Pinner Clinic and the Oakland Strutters.
