Barbara W. Hendrix

Barbara Louise Wilson Hendrix, 56, of Newberry, died Monday, January 3, 2011, at her residence.

Mrs. Hendrix was born on February 17, 1954. She was a daughter of Ruby Hurst Wilson and the late Arthur Hayne Wilson. She was a member of College Street Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hendrix is survived by her husband of 40 years, Henry David (Butch) Hendrix, Jr.; daughters, Jeannie Hendrix Richardson Stribble and son-in-law, Brent Stribble, Candice Hendrix Norris and son-in-law, Charlie Dunlap; a son, Henry (David) Hendrix III, Alisha Clopton, Mary Wicker Martin; former son-in-law, Paul Richardson, Sr.; mother, Ruby Hurst Wilson; sister, Linda Wilson Davenport, brothers, Arthur Donald “Donnie” Wilson, Michael “Mike” Hayne Wilson; grandchildren, Paul “P.J.” Richardson, Jr., Christopher “Chris” Richardson, Matthew “Matt” Richardson, Conner Beck, Landon Stribble, Trinity Norris, Kaleb Dunlap, Khloe Dunlap, Carmen Dunlap, Braydon Hendrix, Sierra Martin and Lil’ David Hendrix. She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Hayne Wilson, sister, Jenny Lynn Wilson, brothers, Charles Wilson and Keith Wilson, and brother-in-law, Donnie Davenport. She also had some very special friends at Newberry Dialysis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011, at College Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Ken Ferrell. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to College Street Baptist Church, 3240 College Street, Newberry, SC 29108
