Beatrice Thomas

Beatrice Shope Thomas, 95, of Newberry, widow of the late Charles M. Thomas, died Friday, February 27, 2009 at White Oak Manor.

Born in Franklin, NC on September 13, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Samuel L. and Vassie Ledford Shope.  She was a former Practical Nurse and retired from West End Mill and later from Avon.  She was a member of West End Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by nieces and nephews, including Patricia Wycoff, Sandra Shope, and Pete Shope.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Kevin Carter.  Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 620 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
