Mr. Ben Bradley, age 85 of Newberry, passed away on August 30, 2010, after a lengthy illness.

Born June 25, 1925 in Marshall, North Carolina, he was the son of Henry and Cindy Sprinkles Bradley. He worked as a surveyor before moving to South Carolina and entering a forty year plus career as a farmer.

He was a member of Bush River Baptist Church where he served as an usher and a member of the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School class. He was for many years a member of the Silverstreet Ruritan Club. His interests included gardening, fishing and photography.

He is survived by Florence, his wife of 58 years, sons Randy (Bonnie) Bradley and Danny (Debbie) Bradley, grandchildren Kristina Bradley Long, Christopher Bradley, Jamie Bradley, Jessica George, Christopher Cannon, Jennifer Lipson and Vanessa Cannon and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Bruce and Roy Bradley. He was predeceased by a brother, Jim Bradley and sisters, Florence Bradley and Blanche Wren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 1:00 PM at Bush River Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Bush River Baptist Church, 8935 Bush River Road, Newberry, SC 29108

Pallbearers will be Jared Long, Tommy Sanders, Christopher Bradley, Mark Cutshall, Ernest Bradley and Tim Cutshall.

Honorary pallbearers are John Earl & Dannette Smith, Tom & Barbara Riser, and Earl & Janie Sattlewhite.

The family would like to extend thanks to Drs. Cory Hunt and Eddie Williams, the caring staff at Palmetto Health Baptist and the ministerial staff of Northeast Presbyterian Church for their services during this difficult time.
