Betty Kingsmore

Betty Whitford Kingsmore, 85, of Prosperity, widow of Joe Hugh Kingsmore, died Monday, August 22, 2022, at her residence.

Born on August 6, 1937, in Seneca, she was a daughter of the late John w. and Lillie Mae Snipes Whitford. She had worked for Super 10 and also the US Census Bureau. Mrs. Kingsmore was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Teresa (Mike) Wallen of Wasilla, AK, Dennis (Tina) Kingsmore of Prosperity and Jennifer Massingale of Prosperity; grandchildren, Shannon Batson, Michael Wallen, Jr., Devin (Jennifer) Kingmore, Jeremy (Ami Marie Temples) Kingsmore, Kim Johnson, Joshua Lindler and Cassie Lindler and great-grandchildren, Taylor Ivie, Justin Kingsmore, Jayce Kingsmore, Aubrey Kingsmore, Jacen Kingsmore, Avanta Gilliam, Benjamin Gilliam and Noah Johnson. Mrs. Kingsmore was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Newberry Humane Society, PO Box 485, Newberry, SC 29108.
