Betty Livingston Ruff, 86, died at Jesse Frank Hawkins Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was born January 27, 1931, to Arthur J. and Ruby Cook Livingston in Prosperity, SC. She was a faithful member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church where she was a member and served as an officer of the Women’s Circle. She enjoyed activities including decorating the Easter Cross and helping with Vacation Bible School for many years.

She is survived by her three sons, Mike (June), Marty (Wanda) and Chris (Jaime) all of Pomaria; ten grandchildren, Marcie (Brian) Blanchard, Jed (Kristin) Ruff, Mandi (Danny) Wicker, Matthew (Debbie) Ruff, Morgan (Jason) Bundrick, Carli, Cade and Cassi Ruff and Luke and Anna Merchant; and eleven great-grandchildren, Callie and Josie Blanchard, Jonny and Brice Ruff, Cameron and Jackson Wicker, Jasmine and Connor Bundrick, Charles Ruff and AJ and Madysen Buxton. She is survived also by one sister, Judith Hook; sisters-in-law, Mary Ruff, Phyllis Sanders and Betty Livingston; brother-in-law, Billy Shealy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John Sigmond Ruff; sisters, Grace Mayer, Edna Shealy, Carolina Butler, Nancy Shealy; and brothers, Arthur Jr., Jimmy, Terry and Bobby Livingston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church by the Reverend Steve Jackson. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery and the family will receive friends in the Parish Hall immediately following the burial service. The family will also be at her home on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church c/o P. O. Box 170, Pomaria , SC 29126.

The family would like to thank the staff at Jesse Frank Hawkins Nursing Home for their care over the past seven months.

Active Pall Bearers will be Randy Ruff, Reuben Mayer, Artie Livingston, Don Shealy, Steve Wicker and Andy Morris. Members of the St. Matthews Women’s Circle, Tessie Mendenhall and Anna Wicker will be Honorary Pall Bearers.
