Betty Nobles Huggin, 76, of Prosperity, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 7, 2014.
Betty was born on July 9, 1938 in the Stoney Hill section of Newberry County. She was a daughter of the late Olin Nobles and Bernice Enlow Nobles Boatwright. She was retired after 26 years from Monsanto and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church where she actively participated in the Golden Agers and New Horizons. She loved gardening and flowers. Betty loved her family and was loved by all in the community.
Mrs. Huggin is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles Huggin; a son, Theron Huggin and his wife, Tammy of Newberry; a daughter, Barbara Burrus and her husband, Stephen of Durham, NC; a granddaughter, Madeleine Burrus of Durham, NC; a sister, Bonnie Bedenbaugh of Batesburg; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her step-father, John Boatwright and a sister, Clara Jarmon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 10, 2014, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer and Reverend Arden Hallman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pallbearers will be Alan Nobles, Joel Pitts, Bo Reeves, Christopher Reeves, Rudy Rowe and Sam Traylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the New Horizons.
