Belva “Betty” Stuck Shealy, 70, of Little Mountain, died Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Providence Hospital.
Born on August 20, 1943 in Little Mountain, she was the daughter of Christopher Ansel and Reba Wessinger Stuck. She was a 1965 graduate of Columbia College and was a retired educator having taught in the Rowan County Schools in North Carolina and at Newberry High School. Mrs. Shealy attended Beth Eden Lutheran Church and was the former organist at Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. James Franklin Shealy; a son, James Matthew Shealy of Irmo; a daughter Edie Elizabeth Shealy of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Benjamin, Luke, Aaron and Larkin Shealy; nieces and nephews, Melissa Stuck Heaps, Kelly Stuck Bobo, Kristi Stuck Meetze and Mark Ansel Stuck. Mrs. Shealy was predeceased by a son, David Stuck Shealy and brothers, Arlen Stuck and Vaden Stuck.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 10, 2013, at St. John Lutheran Church by the Rev. Rodney Gunter and Rev. Derald Edwards. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 4:00 PM Saturday, in Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church's Fellowship Hall and immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or charity of one's choice.
All in attendance at the funeral service will be considered honorary pallbearers.
