Betty S. Kennedy

Betty Jean Stoudemire Kennedy, 84, of West Columbia, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on September 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert Dewey Stoudemire, Sr. and Rosa Rauch Stoudemire. She retired from the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice and was also employed by Damon International and the Panorama Restaurant.

She is survived by her husband; George I. Kennedy; a daughter, Mindy S. (Bill) Lominick of Newberry; a sister-in-law, Peggy Stoudemire; grandchildren, Adrian (Brian) McDade and William B. “Buddy” ( Chasity) Lominick; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Hayes McDade, Preston and Harper Lominick, and A.J. Millis. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert Dewey“Bobby” Stoudemire,Jr. and Aaron "Pete" Stoudemire.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, June 1, 2015 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Silverstreet Lutheran Church, 120 Long Street, Silverstreet, SC 29145.
