Bill Dipner

Henry William “Bill” Dipner, Jr., 85, of Chappells, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at his residence.

Born on November 11, 1927, in Chappells, he was the son of the late Henry William Dipner, Sr. and Belle Kelly Dipner. He retired in 1984 after 35 years from Duke Energy and was a member of Soule Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Dipner was a former member and assistant chief of the Chappells Volunteer Fire Department and a former Mayor of Chappells. Mr. Bill genuine loved his family and gave willingly to his community and church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha Kyzer Dipner; sons, Mike Dipner of Newberry and Bryan Dipner of Prosperity; a daughter, Lane Reitler of Rockwell Center, NY; a sister, Bess Kelly of Greenwood; grandchildren, Todd Dipner, Eric Dipner, Trent Dipner, Cuffia Reitler, Kara Cannon, Neil Dipner, Ameila Dipner and Isla Dipner and great-grandchildren, Austin Dipner, Andrew Dipner and Ryan Cannon.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Soule Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bill Quarles. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the church c/o Gene Tynes, 2122 Summerset Bay Drive, Cross Hill, SC 29332.
