Billy Boyd

Billy Harrell Boyd, 85, of Prosperity formerly of Bastrop, LA., died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his residence.

Born on September 30, 1930, in Alexandria, LA., he was a son of the late Frank and Ruby Erwin Boyd. He was a veteran having served in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from the Morehouse Parish Highway Department and was a member of Tillou Baptist Church in Bastrop. He was a wonderful father and husband and was always willing to help others. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Virginia Bryan Boyd.

He is survived by a daughter, Janice Lynn Boyd Keen and her husband Michael of Prosperity; a stepson, Thomas Edward Bridges and his wife Stella of Greenwood, MS; a stepdaughter, Marie Farmer and husband Charles of Hamburg, AR; a sister, Janet Holley of Alexandria, LA; a granddaughter, Nicole Annette Keen Hagan and her husband Glenn of Prosperity; 2 great-grandchildren, Lane Michael Chamblin and Shelby Lynn Hagan; 7 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren;1 step-great-great-grandchild and a nephew, David Holley of Alexandria, LA.

Services will be held in Bastrop, LA at a later date.
