Billy Pitts

Billy Lester Pitts, 71, of Newberry, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born on December 11, 1940, in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Floyd and Marie Epting Pitts. He served in the S.C. National Guard, was retired from Central Soya – ISE and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mr. Pitts is survived by his wife, June Longshore Pitts; daughters and sons-in-law, Tracie and Gregg Turner of Newberry and Julie and Bennie Leopard of Saluda; grandchildren, Tyler and McKensey Turner and Dustin and Weslee Leopard. He was predeceased by brothers, Reeder Pitts, L.F. Pitts, Lee Pitts and Elmer Pitts.

Graveside services will be will held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Hugh Bickley. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Turner and will receive friends immediately following service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1167 Trinity Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
