Blake Shirey

Christopher Blake Shirey, 32, of Pomaria, died Friday, August 25, 2023 at his residence.

Born on May 27, 1991 in Columbia, he was the son of Charles Tracey and Connie Lominick Shirey.

He was a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School, Class of 2009 and was the owner of B & C Home-Land Service. Blake had a huge heart and loved helping people. He enjoyed hiking in the mountains and taking trips, anywhere he could go. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, and taking his children along with him hunting and fishing.

Blake is survived by, in addition to his parents, by his fiancée, Jenna Baker; his sons, Wyatt Shirey and Sawyer Shirey; his daughter, Ava Shirey; his sister, Carley Shirey; his maternal grandparents, Olin and Ann Lominick; his paternal grandmother, Jeanette Shirey; and his niece, Taegan Hendrix. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Wade Shirey.

Serving as pall bearers will be his father, Tracey Shirey, SCott Lominick, Jack Lominick, Troy Baker, Josh Richardson, Josh Cumalander, Ben Yarborough, and Cameron Clary.

Honorary pall bearers will be Evans Toland and Robert "Cricket" Goree.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
