Blanche Evelyn Bobb Cromer, 84, of Newberry, widow of James. L. Cromer, died Friday, February 26, 2016, at her residence.
Born on May 30, 1931, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Johnnie Arthur and Emma Mae Johnson Bobb. Mrs. Cromer was retired from American Fiber and Finishing and was a member of the Prosperity Church of God.
She is survived by sons, Waymond (Margaret) Cockrell, Eugene, “Bub” Cockrell, and Scott Cockrell all of Newberry; daughters, Dollie (Mack Amick) Dailey and Wendy (Richard) Jacobs both of Newberry; a sister, Eva Mae Somers of Newberry; brothers, Otis Bobb of GA, Larry Bobb of Newberry and Robert Earl Bobb of Prosperity; eleven grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cromer was predeceased by a son, Johnnie Lester Cockrell; a daughter, Mae Alice Cockrell a grandson, Welton Eugne “Gene” Cockrell and siblings, Mary Cromer, Ola Belle Abbott, John Bobb and James Bobb.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, February 29, 2016, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Chaffins. Burial will follow in Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Prosperity Church of God, Po Box 190, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pallbearers will be Brandon Crawford, John Nobles, Philip Cockrell, Michael Harmon, George Moore, J.D. Jacobs, Marcos Izquareldo and Ramon Izquareldo.
