Bobbie Alan Oxner

Bobbie Alan Oxner, 69, of Whitmire, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at his residence.

Born on September 4, 1941, in Newberry he was a son of the late M. Alan Oxner and Pearl Koon Oxner. He was retired from S.C. Educational Television. Mr. Oxner was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Newberry Car Buffs, Sandlapper Region of the AACA, the Mid Carolina Twirlers and a Lifetime member of the NRA.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Counts Oxner; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn O. and Anthony Christopher of Montgomery, TX; grandchildren, Averie K. Christopher and Graham Alan Christopher; a sister, Nan Cain of Newbery; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Lou Oxner of Whitmire.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Bethany Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be Bethany Lutheran Church, 2704 Nance Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or to Harmony Care Hospice, 708 S. Duncan Bypass, Union, SC 29379.
