Bobbie Jewel Moates Smith, 86, of Newberry, widow of George Arthur Smith, died Monday, January 4, 2021, at White Oak Manor.
Born on March 7, 1934, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late William Dewey and Mary Bell Wix Moates. She was retired from Damon International and later worked for Betty Halfacre Catering.. She was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church where she was in the Adult B Sunday School Class, the Fellowship Circle and the Joy Fellowship.
She is survived by sons, George Ricky (Kay) Smith of Pomaria and Troy Adam (Julie) Smith of Newberry; grandchildren, Misty Lea Smith, Megan Smith (Jeff) Livingston, Chelsea Smith (Chase) Waites, Jennifer (Trey) Burrows, Kayla (Cameron) McClive and Steven Perry and great-grandchildren, Cheyanne Smith, Kara Hardee, Julia Howard, Amethi Livingston, Rook Livingston, Alex Row, Brayden Burrows, Lora Burrows, Emmon McClive and Nolan McClive. She was predeceased by siblings, Eugenia Crumpton, Doshia Rankin, Oral Moates and William Rupert Moates.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Terry Amick.
