Bobby Eugene “Catfish” Hill, 77, of Little Mountain, widower of Elizabeth Fulmer Hill, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at his residence.
Born on April 6, 1938, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Charlie A. and Rosa Wyse Hill. He was a a graduate of Chapin High School and attended Newberry College. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Mr. Hill was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Sanctuary Adult Sunday School Class, the Golden Agers and a former church councilman.
He is survived by sons, Keith (Susan) Hill and Roger (Lynn) Hill both of Little Mountain; a sister, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Amick of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Kendyl (Adam) Hudgens, Samantha Hill, Jesse Hill, Hunter Hill, Carly (Dave) Hall, Crystal (Chris) Crouch and Hayley (Amp) Robertson; great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Ian Willetts, Addi and Aryn Crouch, Karis, Berit and Pipper Hall and Cory Robertson. Mr. Hill was predeceased by siblings, Doris Lindler, Henrietta Harmon and James Gordon Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at St. Peter Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dave Tholstrup and the Rev. Dave Hall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
